Team 2008 Main Objectives:
-make an impact in the NRC 2008
-emerge overall champion for Kuching/Samarahan division
-to give exposure to the Form 2 team members

-4th place in NRC Sarawak 2008 (Best team for Kuching/Samarahan division); Team DX’Titanons

Team DX’Titanons
The team that scored big during the 2008 NRC. They won the 4th place, hence securing the best ever position for any school in Kuching/Samarahan division, and was also voted to have the “Best booth” award. This achievement, although not recognized, is in fact the best achievement ever for SMK Matang Jaya in the NRC as they can be considered the best team in the Kuching/Samarahan Division for the year 2008. DX’Titanons in fact changed their project theme over 5 times upon completion to finally come up with MECHA-TITAN which is short for Mechanical Titanic. The robot was able to secure 4th place due to its size and functionality which say it save the environment through minimizing deforestation, and deepening shallow rivers. This team consist of Mohd Firdaus, Zulkifli Shamsuddin and Farah Liyana.

Team Maxborg
The troublesome 3 is their nick name due to the fact they are frequently not found together during training sessions. They are very much talented, but due to this, have very busy schedules. After so many tries and proposed projects, they finally came out with a flood detection system called “FLOODECH” a.k.a Flood Detecting Machine, but FLOODECH was unsuccessful in the 2008’s NRC. This result however does not show anything as Joseph, Samuel and Azra are all very talented, and are expected to have a very bright future in mechanical engineering, shall they decide to pursue their studies in that direction.

Team D’Trioz S.H.A
Team D’Trioz S.H.A comprises of Sharifah, Akmal and Aizah. It’s an all girl team, and they came out with an automatic fertilizing machine. The project itself looked promising, but unfortunately was unable to be demonstrated during the competition. Overall, the group worked hard together during the whole preparation for the NRC, and managed to finish and complete their project despite looming internal problems. Also noted is the fact that their commitment and effort is worth a lot of praise. A team which could be future engineers.

Team Veloci-Raptor
Veloci-Raptor makes up of Adam, Hazirah and also Aidi. They are the youngest of all the teams and the main objective of this team is for exposure for the 2010 Robotics competition. Nonetheless, clear perseverance and effort showed that this team has more to do than just become an exposure team when they beat other 16 teams competing for in the Open Category for the 10th spot. More impressive is the fact that they are among the youngest competitors in the Open Category for the NRC 2008, and managed to master the use of the bluetooth function without much guidance. A team to watch out in the 2010 NRC.
