Criteria of Selection

The most evident mistake in 2007 was the inclusion of non-competition members in MJROBOTICS. Their inclusion not only disrupted the whole flow of preparation for MJROBOTICS in the NRC, but also made it near to impossible for the teachers to keep focused on teams competing.

Therefore, it has been approved by the SMK Matang Jaya curricular administration, with the blessings from the Principle to only allow a small amount of students into the club. Students would be handpicked by the MJROBOTICS teachers, using the following criterias:

• Able to communicate and write well in English & Bahasa Malaysia
• Has good academic results
• Is well disciplined and is without any major discipline record
• Shows great commitment and creativity in class
• Is willing to learn and be thought new things
• Works well in a team
• Has a favourable attitude towards friends, teachers and people around him/her.
In addition to that, six non-competing members have been selected to help assist the teachers in co-ordinating training, activities, and movement of the team.

Shall you be interested to join MJROBOTICS, you can submit your name to the teacher’s in-charge.  Do note that membership is only open for students in Form 2 and 4 yearly.
